A seemingly lighthearted moment at a Coldplay concert in Boston has turned into a public relations nightmare for two top executives at the software company Astronomer. CEO Andy Byron and Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot were unexpectedly featured on the venue’s kiss cam, igniting widespread speculation and ultimately leading to internal disciplinary action.
In the now-viral clip posted to TikTok, the two executives are shown with their arms around each other in the crowd when frontman Chris Martin noticed them on screen. Byron, who is married, quickly ducked down behind the seat barrier while Cabot appeared visibly embarrassed and covered her face.

“Oh, look at these two,” Martin can be heard saying as the crowd cheers. “All right, c’mon, you’re okay.” Then he adds with a grin: “Oh, what? Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”

The moment, though humorous to some, ignited a firestorm online as social media users attempted to identify the pair. Reports began circulating about their roles at Astronomer, prompting calls for accountability.
Astronomer Responds
On Friday, July 18, Astronomer published an official statement on LinkedIn addressing the incident. The company emphasized its longstanding values and stated that leadership is expected to model accountability.
“The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have additional details to share very shortly.”
“Alyssa Stoddard was not at the event and no other employees were in the video. Andy Byron has not put out any statement, reports saying otherwise are all incorrect.”

According to a company spokesperson, Byron has now been placed on leave while the internal investigation proceeds. No disciplinary action against Cabot has been publicly confirmed.
Andy Byron Issues Apology After Viral Concert Moment
In a statement released on July 17, 2025, Astronomer CEO Andy Byron acknowledged the viral kiss cam incident at the Coldplay concert, calling it “a deeply personal mistake” that played out on a very public stage. Byron publicly apologized to his wife, family, and colleagues, stating he is stepping back to reflect and take responsibility.
He also expressed concern over the incident becoming public without his consent and urged for greater sensitivity around turning private moments into viral entertainment. The statement ends with a lyrical reference to Coldplay’s song “Fix You,” signaling both remorse and reflection.
