China Gravity-1 rocket launch from offshore Haiyang placed three satellites into orbit; the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center conducted the sea-based mission.

China launched a Gravity-1 rocket into space from waters near Haiyang in Shandong Province on Saturday.

The rocket took off at 10:20 a.m. Beijing Time and put three satellites into orbit, according to Xinhua. The mission took place at the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center.

A wide-field satellite and two experimental spacecraft were among the payloads.

In January 2024, Gravity-1 performed its first flight.
