The US Centers for Disease Control and PreventionĀ Center (CDC) updated its mask guidanceĀ on Tuesday. According to the new mask guidance, the CDC recommends that fully vaccinated people wear masks indoors in areas with “substantial” and “high” transmission of Covid-19.
āTo maximize protection from the Delta variant and prevent possibly spreading it to others, wear a mask indoors in public if you are in an areaĀ of substantial or high transmission,ā CDC recommended in newly updated guidance.
The CDC recommends that everyone in grade schools wear masks indoors, āincluding teachers, staff, students, and visitors, regardless of vaccination status.ā
āThis pandemic continues to pose a serious threat to the health of all Americans,ā CDC Director Rochelle Walensky told a media briefingĀ on Tuesday. āToday, we have new science related to the delta variant that requires us to update the guidance regarding what you can do when you are fully vaccinated.ā
