A woman in her 30s is fighting for life after an unprovoked neck stabbing in Birmingham city center shortly before 9 p.m. on Nov. 7 along Smallbrook Queensway, according to West Midlands Police.
Police said the victim was taken to a hospital with a serious neck injury and remains in critical condition. A man in his 20s was arrested close to the scene and is in custody at this time. Detectives said they are not seeking anyone else at this time and are working to establish a motive.
Officers remained at the scene on Saturday to conduct inquiries and reassure the public, West Midlands Police said. Witnesses or anyone with information were urged to call 101 and quote log 5503 of Nov. 7.
