Astronomer has officially confirmed the resignation of its Chief Executive Officer, Andy Byron, days after a viral kiss cam incident at a Coldplay concert ignited a wave of online backlash and internal review.
In a statement posted Friday on X (formerly Twitter), the company acknowledged that its leadership standards had not been upheld and confirmed that Byron had tendered his resignation. The Board of Directors has accepted it.

“Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted,” the company wrote. “The Board will begin a search for our next Chief Executive as Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy continues to serve as interim CEO.”
