Israeli Military Says IRGC Spokesman Ali Mohammad Naini Killed in Tehran Strike

The Israeli military said Friday that its air force killed Ali Mohammad Naini, the spokesperson and head of public relations for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, in an overnight strike in Tehran.

The military said the operation was carried out based on intelligence. It described Naini as the IRGC’s “main propagandist” over the past two years and accused him of helping spread the Iranian regime’s messaging to allied groups across the Middle East to support attacks against Israel.

Iranian state media also confirmed his death. Tasnim News Agency said Naini had served as IRGC spokesman since 2024 and was “martyred” in strikes it attributed to the United States and Israel.

Al Jazeera English separately reported that the IRGC had confirmed Naini’s death and said he was killed in what it described as an Israeli-American missile attack.

Iranian state media and regional outlets confirmed Naini’s death, though accounts differed on responsibility. The Israeli military said it carried out the strike, while Tasnim and Al Jazeera reporting described it as a joint Israeli-American attack.
