Auria to Open East Coast Headquarters in Reston, Creating 78 Jobs

The $1.8 million investment brings a mission integration center and 78 jobs to Reston.

RICHMOND, Va. — Auria, a national security and aerospace defense company, will invest $1.8 million to open its East Coast headquarters in Fairfax County and create 78 jobs, the governor’s office announced.

The company will use the new Reston office to gain greater market access to key government and commercial clients. CEO Damian DiPippa said the site will also house a mission integration center, where staff will develop, test and integrate command and control systems for national security customers.

Gov. Abigail Spanberger said Auria’s decision reflects confidence in Virginia’s business climate and location. She said her administration looks forward to a “longstanding partnership” with the company.

Northern Virginia is quickly becoming Auria’s largest employment footprint, DiPippa said. He called Reston “the natural choice” to complement the company’s existing operations in Warrenton.

Auria was created in 2024 by combining several national security and space technology firms. It now does space operations, satellite communications, missile defense and cybersecurity work for government, commercial and international clients.

Its main specialty is command, control and communications software. Auria also handles satellite scheduling and mission planning, and it builds data-driven systems to run space assets.

Commerce and Trade Secretary Carrie H. Chenery said the Reston headquarters puts Auria closer to its customers and partners in the space and satellite field. She said the investment will create jobs for Virginians.

Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chairman Jeffrey C. McKay cited the region’s space and defense industry, its workforce and its proximity to federal partners.

Sen. Jennifer Boysko and Del. Karen Keys-Gamarra also welcomed the company. Keys-Gamarra said the investment would bring high-paying jobs to Reston.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership and the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority worked together to bring the project to Virginia. For hiring, Auria will get help from the Virginia Jobs Investment Program. The state pays for the program, which gives companies money and advice to recruit and train new workers.

The announcement did not say how much assistance Auria will receive or when hiring will begin.
