Drones Deliver Relief to Flood-Cut Areas in Gorkha, Rasuwa

Four drones carry supplies where roads and bridges were swept away

KATHMANDU — Relief materials have been delivered by drone to remote areas of Gorkha district cut off from the road network by flood, the disaster authority said on Tuesday.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, drones have been used to deliver necessary relief materials to affected citizens during Dashain.

NDRRMA chief Dr. Dharma Raj Upreti said drones have become effective for delivering relief to areas disconnected from the road network and to geographically remote areas.

“We have four drones. Relief materials are being distributed at the areas in Rasuwa and Gorkha, disconnected from road network through drones,”
