HSINCHU, Taiwan — TSMC reported a 68.7% increase in third-quarter net profit Thursday and forecast higher sales in the final three months of 2026.
Profit reached NT$763.06 billion for the quarter ended Sept. 30, according to TSMC’s earnings release. Revenue rose 50.9% from a year earlier to NT$1.49 trillion.
In U.S. dollars, quarterly sales were $46.72 billion. The company’s fourth-quarter guidance calls for $52.3 billion to $54.3 billion in revenue; those figures are forecasts, not completed sales.
Chief Financial Officer Wendell Huang attributed the quarter’s business to demand for TSMC’s most advanced manufacturing processes. He said demand would continue into the fourth quarter as production using its 2-nanometer technology increased.
That technology supplied 8% of wafer revenue in the third quarter. Processes of 7 nanometers or more advanced accounted for 79%, the company reported.
TSMC expects a fourth-quarter gross margin of 65% to 67%, compared with 66.4% in the third quarter. Its guidance assumes an exchange rate of NT$31.8 per U.S. dollar.
