Trump Promises $5,000 if Republicans Hold Congress

At a Bullhead City rally, the president tied a $5,000 payment to Republicans keeping control of Congress in the Nov. 3 midterms.

BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. — President Donald Trump closed a campaign speech in Bullhead City on Wednesday with a direct pitch: elect Republicans to keep the House and Senate on Nov. 3, and voters will get $5,000.

Trump spoke for about an hour and 45 minutes at Laughlin Bullhead International Airport, according to The Arizona Republic. He was due in Montana for another rally the same evening.

“If you elect a Republican House and a Republican Senate November 3rd, you’re gonna get $5,000. Go and do it,”

The pitch came at the end of a list of promises he linked to Republicans keeping control of the federal government. The list also included extending federal tax breaks, criminal justice changes and tighter voter identification laws, the Republic reported.

Earlier, Trump brought gubernatorial nominee U.S. Rep. Andy Biggs onstage for brief remarks and thanked several Arizona allies, including U.S. Reps. Paul Gosar, Abe Hamadeh and Eli Crane, Bullhead City Mayor Karen Dallman and Arizona GOP Chair Sergio Arellano.

On Iran, Trump defended the U.S. action and claimed Iran had been close to completing a nuclear weapon when the United States attacked, the Republic reported. He said the war would end soon and predicted gasoline prices would then fall below where they were before it began. Gas prices have risen about 40% in Arizona during the war, according to the Republic.

Trump also defended his tariffs, taking credit for growth in Arizona’s semiconductor sector and for a revival he described in the state’s copper industry after a 50% tariff on foreign copper.

The Arizona stop was his third visit to the state in his second term and his second in 2026, the Republic reported. Republicans are trying to keep control of the House and Senate nationally while also trying to win top state offices in Arizona now held by Democrats.
