Zelenskyy Says Russian Drones Hit Kyiv University During Classes

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russian drones struck a university in Kyiv during classes Wednesday, one of several attacks he reported across Ukraine that injured at least five people in Odesa.

All 160 students were in a shelter when the strike hit, according to a post on Zelenskyy’s X account, which did not report injuries there.

The Odesa attack came overnight, damaging a residential building and city infrastructure, the post said. A child was among the five people injured there.

In Kherson, Russian forces hit a building used by first responders and police, Zelenskyy wrote. A strike in the Kharkiv region left thousands without electricity and caused injuries, he said.

In many regions, air raid alerts stayed in effect because of the threat of jet-powered drones and aerial bombs, according to the post.

None of the strike accounts has been independently verified.

Zelenskyy criticized what he called “far too little response” from the world’s most influential leaders to the latest Russian escalation. Calling the drones Russian-Iranian “shaheds,” he said each attack amounts to Russia practicing tactics it is preparing for other countries.

He urged partners to provide air defense for Ukraine, impose sanctions on Russia and significantly increase defense production.
