President Donald Trump attacked commentator Tucker Carlson, former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Rep. Thomas Massie in a Truth Social post Friday evening, calling the three “losers.”
He directed much of the post at Carlson, questioning his intelligence, influence and political prospects. Trump also accused Greene of changing her politics after he stopped returning her calls and criticized Massie’s voting record.
Trump offered no evidence for his assertions about Carlson’s influence or intelligence, Greene’s motives and polling, or Massie’s voting pattern. Those claims have not been independently verified.
The post appeared to refer to an Aug. 1 gathering involving Carlson, Greene, Massie and former National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent, according to TheWrap. Greene shared a photo on X and wrote that Trump had “betrayed us all,” adding, “The movement has begun.”
Kent later told The National News Desk that he, Greene and Massie had encouraged Carlson to run for president. Carlson has said he does not plan to run.
Trump did not identify a policy reason for the attack. The three previously criticized the Iran war as a departure from the “America First” agenda, ABC News reported. TheWrap received no immediate response from their representatives.
