Trump Iran Strike: US to Hit ‘Very Hard Tonight’

Trump says US will seize Iran’s main oil export hub and compares the plan to Venezuela

President Donald Trump said Thursday the United States will hit Iran “VERY HARD TONIGHT” and will later seize Kharg Island and other oil facilities to take control of Iran’s oil and gas markets.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed Iran’s navy, air force, radar, anti-aircraft systems and all other defenses are gone, along with most of its offensive capability.

At some point in the not too distant future, we will be taking Kharg Island, and other oil infrastructure points. — President Donald Trump, on Truth Social

Trump wrote that “at some point in the not too distant future,” the United States will take Kharg Island and other oil infrastructure points and assume total control of Iran’s oil and gas markets.

He compared the plan to U.S. involvement in Venezuela’s oil market, which he said is “working out brilliantly” for both countries. He offered nothing in the post to support that characterization.

Trump did not specify targets, the scope of the planned strikes or how the United States would take the island.
