Montgomery County Department of Police said an adult male died after a shooting early Thursday at a home in the 12000 block of Carrington Hill Drive.
Police said 6th District officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service personnel were dispatched to the address at about 5:55 a.m. for a reported shooting.
Officers found the man inside the residence with apparent gunshot wounds, police said. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The case is being investigated by the Major Crimes Division’s Homicide Unit.
Police said no suspect information was available Thursday, and no one was in custody.
The victim’s name has not been released. Police said a further update would be issued after relatives are notified.
