Iran State Media Carries Warning Threatening U.S. and Israeli Universities in West Asia

State media carried a message setting a deadline for the U.S. while threatening universities and research centers in the region.

IRIB News, the Iranian state broadcaster’s news account on X, published what it described as an urgent warning from Iran’s Armed Forces Central Headquarters, saying the United States had until 12 p.m. Monday, March 30, Tehran time, to condemn what the statement called the bombing of Iranian universities or universities linked to the U.S. and Israel in West Asia would be targeted.

The statement in the post said Iranian universities, including in Tehran, had been hit several times. It did not provide evidence for that claim in the material provided, and no independent confirmation was included.

According to the statement, staff, professors, students, and nearby residents around American universities in the region were advised to move at least one kilometer away from those campuses for safety. The message framed the warning as a response to what it described as attacks on Iran’s universities.

The statement also said that if Washington wanted more than two universities in the region to avoid destruction, it had to formally condemn the alleged bombing of Iranian universities by the stated deadline. It added that if such a condemnation was not issued, universities and research centers would be attacked.

The warning was published by Iranian state media as an official message. The material provided does not independently verify the claims in the statement or identify any specific universities by name.
