In a post on Truth Social on Saturday, President Donald Trump said multiple countries would send warships alongside the United States to keep the Strait of Hormuz open.
Trump said the United States had already destroyed “100%” of Iran’s military capability, while also warning that Iran could still threaten shipping with drones, mines or short-range missiles. He stated that countries affected by any disruption in the strait, including China, France, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom, should send ships to the area.
Trump also said the United States would continue military action along the shoreline and against Iranian boats and ships until, in his words, the Strait of Hormuz is “OPEN, SAFE, and FREE.”
