Prince William County police have obtained murder and firearm warrants for a 19-year-old Gainesville man in the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old Dumfries man, while also charging an injured 17-year-old juvenile in the same investigation, according to the Prince William County Police Department.
The shooting happened March 9 in the 1800 block of Potomac Shores Parkway in Dumfries, police said. Detectives identified the wanted suspect as J’Shaun Zomari Williams, 19, of the 14200 block of Haro Trail in Gainesville. He was not located when detectives executed a search warrant at his home and attempted to serve the arrest warrants, according to police.
Williams is wanted on charges of murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, discharge of a firearm into an occupied dwelling, willful discharge of a firearm in a public place, concealed carry, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, police said.
Detectives also obtained charges against one of the injured juveniles involved in the incident. Police said a 17-year-old boy from Woodbridge was charged March 10 with felony homicide, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, willful discharge of a firearm in a public place, and concealed carry. He has since been released from the hospital and is being held at the Juvenile Detention Center pending a court date.
Police identified the victim as an 18-year-old man from Dumfries.
The injured parties were preliminarily identified as a 20-year-old man from Woodbridge, a 16-year-old boy from Dumfries, and two 17-year-old boys from Woodbridge, according to police.
