Suspected Rocket Debris With Chinese Flag Recovered Off Sulu, PCG Says

The Philippine Coast Guard said the suspected debris was discovered by a fisher and brought to shore in Pangutaran, Sulu.

The Philippine Coast Guard said Saturday that suspected rocket debris bearing a Chinese flag was recovered off the coast of Sulu, according to Philippine News Agency.

The debris was found by a local fisher and was first spotted floating at sea before it was towed toward Barangay Suang Bunah in Pangutaran on Dec. 30, PNA reported.

The recovered object is now under the custody of Barangay Suang Bunah, the coast guard said.

In its advisory, the PCG urged residents and sea travelers to stay alert and report any unusual objects seen in the water to help protect public safety, PNA said.
