Paris Saint-Germain has asked a Paris labour court to recognize a €180 million debt owed by Kylian Mbappé as compensation for a collapsed transfer to Saudi club Al Hilal, according to RTP .
The claim is PSG’s response to a separate case brought by Mbappé, who is seeking €240 million from his former club over the reclassification of his employment contract and alleged moral harassment. RTP reported that Mbappé is demanding €55 million euros in unpaid wages and bonuses as part of that broader sum.
PSG’s request is linked to an offer of €300 million from Al Hilal in July 2023 that Mbappé turned down. The French champions argue that turning down the deal caused them major financial damage, as they later lost the player on a free transfer when his contract expired and he joined Real Madrid in July 2024.
Lawyers for the Paris club tried to move the case from the labour court to another Paris tribunal, but that request was denied, RTP said. The labor court is likely to take a few weeks to make a verdict on the well-known case.
