President Donald Trump has directed Attorney General Pam Bondi to open a federal investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s links with prominent Democrats, including former President Bill Clinton and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, after the release of tens of thousands of pages of Epstein-related records by the House Oversight Committee.
Trump announced the move in a post on Truth Social, calling allegations about his own knowledge of Epstein’s activities a n “Epstein Ho ax” and “another Russia, Russia, Russia scam,” and asserting that “all arrows” point to Democrats, according to Truth Social. He asked the Justice Department and the FBI to look into Epstein’s connections to Clinton, former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, Hoffman, JPMorgan, and other people to “find out what was going on with them and him .”
The order came after the committee released about 23,000 pages of documents that include emails in which Epstein claimed Trump knew about his activities.Trump has denied that claim and tried to draw attention away from it and onto Clinton and other well-knownpeop le.
Speaking with reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump insisted he “knew nothing” about Epstein’s abuse of girls and described their relationship as “very bad for many years,” according to a video posted by Acyn. He told reporters to “give me a break” and argued journalists should instead “find out what he knew with respect to BillClint on … all those people he knew, including JPMorgan Chase,” before abruptly cutting off a follow-up question with, “QUI ET! QUIET !”
Critics, including Rep. Thomas Massie, argue that the current investigation seems to be timed tosto p a House vote on making all of Epstein’s files public. Hoffman, on the other hand, has openly called for the full release of all remaining data.
