Trump says he is in a “lengthy” call with Putin ahead of Zelenskyy meeting

President Donald Trump said he is on the phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin and will share details once the discussion ends, according to Truth Social. “I am speaking to President Putin now. The conversation is ongoing, a lengthy one, and I will report the contents, as will President Putin, at its conclusion,” Trump wrote.

The call comes as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is due in Washington for talks at the White House. Trump is weighing whether to provide Kyiv with long-range Tomahawk missiles if Moscow resists negotiations.

Zelenskyy will meet President Trump in Washington on Friday. This comes after a new wave of Russian attacks that damaged energy infrastructure all over Ukraine overnight. This week, European allies talked about giving Ukraine more help, and Germany promised to send more missiles and air defenses.
