Lady Gaga is set to appear in the sequel to “The Devil Wears Prada,” squeezing in the film during her Mayhem Ball Tour, according to Variety.
Fans saw Gaga in Milan, where the show is being filmed, after four sold-out nights in London’s O2 Arena. This is her first big-screen performance since “Joker: Folie à Deux.” She made a short appearance on Netflix’s “Wednesday” earlier this year. She is supposed to perform in Stockholm’s Avicii Arena on Sunday night after her visit in Milan.
The first movie, which was based on Lauren Weisberger’s 2003 book, follows Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway), who wanted to be a journalist, as she dealt with the expectations of Runway editor Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep). The sequel’s plot details haven’t been confirmed yet, but the story is said to follow Miranda as she navigates her career through the decline of traditional magazine publishing and faces off against her former assistant Emily (Emily Blunt), who is now a high-powered executive at a luxury group that has the ad dollars Priestly needs. It is still not obvious how Hathaway’s Andy fits into the new chapter.

Streep and Stanley Tucci were recently sighted in the front row at the Dolce & Gabbana presentation during Milan Fashion Week. There was a brief meeting between Streep (as Miranda) and Vogue’s Anna Wintour that went viral.
David Frankel, the original director, and Aline Brosh McKenna, the original screenplay, are back, as is producer Karen Rosenfelt. Kenneth Branagh plays Miranda’s husband, and Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, and Simone Ashley are also new cast members. Tibor Feldman and Tracie Thoms will play the same parts again.
The movie will come out on May 1, 2026, about 20 years after the first one.
