Mexican officials on Monday confirmed the discovery of two Colombian urban musicians who went missing last week in Mexico City.
Urban musician stage name B-King, 31-year-old Bayron Sánchez, and DJ Regio Clown, 35-year-old Jorge Luis Herrera Lemos, were murdered on September 17 in Cocotitlán municipality. The musicians went missing on September 16 after they had exited a gym in Mexico City’s Polanco affluent district.
The musicians played their first outside concert at ElectroLab nightclub on September 14. They told their manager that they were having lunch with friends but didn’t return to their hotel for a planned meeting in the evening, according to a report by ELPais .
Colombian President Gustavo Petro condemned the murders on social networks, blaming the murders on foreign narco-trafficking policies. Mexican authorities still haven’t declared the motivation behind the murder.
B-King manager revealed the artist had complained and been threatened before last months ago.
Family members launched social media appeals seeking information, backed by music performers such as J Balvin.
The case drew diplomatic interest since Petro sought help from Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum during the search operation.
