Google’s YouTube said its carriage agreement with Fox is up for renewal and that negotiations are ongoing. According to the company, Fox is seeking payments “far higher” than partners with comparable offerings, and if no agreement is reached by 5:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2025, Fox channels—including Fox Sports, Fox Business, and Fox News—would become unavailable on YouTube TV. The company added that content from those channels saved in member libraries would also become unavailable at that time.
YouTube said its priority is a fair deal that reflects the value of Fox’s content without passing on extra costs to subscribers. The company noted it is “working diligently” with Fox, and if Fox programming is unavailable for an extended period, YouTube TV will offer members a $10 credit. In the meantime, viewers could watch Fox programming by signing up for Fox One, the company said.
What’s next: YouTube said it will keep negotiating with Fox to maintain carriage and will update subscribers if the deadline passes without a deal.
