The plane was reportedly en route to Lelystad, Netherlands, according to real-time flight tracking data from Flightradar. Thick smoke billowed into the sky as emergency crews rushed to the wreckage.

David Burton-Sampson, Labour MP for Southend West and Leigh, confirmed the incident and stated that Essex Police are on the scene. He advised the public to avoid the area for safety reasons. Nearby facilities, including the Rochford Hundred Golf Club and Westcliff Rugby Club, were evacuated as a precaution due to their proximity to the crash site.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
