The men — identified as Lennin “N” (also known as Kevin “N”), David “N”, Gustavo “N”, Christopher “N”, Juan “N”, Óscar “N”, Erick “N”, Luis “N”, Ricardo “N”, and Armando “N” — were convicted on three charges:
- Forced disappearance committed by individuals
- Aggravated forced disappearance
- Qualified homicide
Violent Incident in Rural Jalisco
The events unfolded in September 2024, when elements of Mexico’s National Guard responded to emergency calls reporting gunfire at Rancho Izaguirre in La Estanzuela, Teuchitlán. Upon arrival, officers were fired upon and responded with defensive force. The standoff ended when security forces gained control of the property using verbal commands.
Inside the ranch, officers discovered one person deceased and rescued two individuals who had been held against their will. All ten men were immediately arrested and transferred into custody pending trial.
Trial and Conviction
The oral trial commenced on July 1, 2025, before a collegiate criminal tribunal in the state of Jalisco. After final arguments were presented, the court unanimously found the accused guilty of all charges, including aggravating factors. The proceedings were led by the Jalisco State Prosecutor’s Office, under its Vice Prosecutor for Missing Persons.
Sentencing Hearing Set for July 8
The sentencing phase, officially known as the “individualization of sanctions,” is scheduled for Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. local time. At that time, the tribunal will determine the length and nature of the prison terms the ten convicted men will serve.
