Lynchburg, VA – The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) is investigating an armed robbery that occurred early this morning, May 18, 2025, at the 7-Eleven located in the 2300 block of Fort Avenue. Officers responded to the scene at approximately 1:13 a.m. following a 911 call from store employees.
Suspect Armed with Rifle Demands Cash
According to investigators, the suspect—an unidentified male—entered the store wearing gloves and a mask, approached the cashier, and brandished a rifle. He demanded money from the register and fled the scene on foot after obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash.
Investigation and Public Appeal
LPD detectives have released surveillance photos of the suspect and are asking for the community’s assistance in identifying him. Authorities have not released any additional physical description at this time, but confirm the investigation is ongoing.

LPD Investigates Armed Robbery at Fort Avenue 7-Eleven
Lynchburg, Va. — At approximately 1:13 a.m. this morning, the Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) responded to a report of an armed robbery at the 7-Eleven convenience store located in the 2300 block of Fort Avenue.
According to the initial investigation, a male suspect—age unknown—wearing gloves and a mask entered the store, approached the clerk, displayed a rifle, and demanded cash. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the scene on foot.
LPD is actively investigating this incident and is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect. See attached photos for a description of the suspect.
