    Nepal Government alerts against new variant of coronavirus, BF-7

    The government of Nepal has appealed to the general public to be aware of the new variant of the coronavirus, BF-7

    The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the new variant BF 7 of Covid-19, which has spread to neighboring countries, has not been confirmed in Nepal so far, while the risk of infection of Covid-19, which has spread as a global epidemic, still remains.

    “The infection rate of this variant in the neighboring countries is increasing day by day and according to the preliminary report, it is seen that this variant will infect many people in a short period of time, as there is a risk of this variant in Nepal as well, it is necessary to be alert and aware for prevention and control, ” the Ministry said.

    In view of the approach of the great Christian festival of Christmas and English New Year, 2023, the Ministry of Health has also appealed to common people to regularly follow public health standards to prevent and protect against infection of Covid-19, including mandatory use of masks, maintaining physical distance, washing hands with soap or using sanitizer regularly.

    In addition, the ministry has appealed to those who have yet to receive the additional dose of 9 booster doses of Covid-19 to contact local health institutions and get vaccinated.
